HELPFUL TIPS: RUN, HIDE, FIGHT
1. Be Aware of Your Surroundings
- Always identify exits and safe zones when entering a building or event space. Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it might be. [3]
2. Run — Escape If You Can
- Have an escape route in mind, leave belongings behind, and help others escape if possible. Don’t stop until you're safe. [3]
3. Hide — Stay Out of Sight
- If you can’t escape, hide in a room or office, lock and barricade the door, silence your phone, and stay quiet. [3]
4. Fight — As a Last Resort
- If your life is in immediate danger, act aggressively. Improvise weapons, commit to your actions, and work with others to disarm or disable the attacker. [3]
