MITIGATE THE RISK
1. Know the Warning Signs
- Stop using your phone immediately if the battery hisses, pops, swells, becomes unusually hot, or emits a strange odor. These are signs of imminent failure. [1]
2. Protect the Battery
- Use a sturdy phone case to prevent punctures and drops that could damage the internal battery. [1]
3. Avoid Extreme Temperatures
- Leaving a phone in a hot car or freezing environment can degrade battery health and increase risk of fire. Keep it between 32°F and 95°F. [1]
4. Charge Safely
