MITIGATE THE RISK
1. Use Machine Guards
- Install guards that prevent particles or sparks from escaping during grinding, cutting, or sanding operations. Engineering controls are the first line of defense. [2]
2. Ensure Eye and Face Protection Is ANSI Z87 Rated
- All safety glasses, goggles, and face shields should be marked with ANSI Z87.1 to meet impact and splash protection standards. [2]
3. Use Splash Goggles for Chemical Hazards
- When handling acids, solvents, or other liquids, use tight-fitting splash goggles that seal around the eyes. [1]
4. Wear Safety Glasses with a Face Shield for Biohazards or Grinding
